The Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee, led by Xi Jinping, held a leadership meeting on Monday to review regulations on environmental protection inspections and a report on the latest round of disciplinary inspections.
The meeting acknowledged progress in ecological oversight, citing improvements in officials’ accountability, major environmental cases being addressed, and public complaints being resolved. It emphasized the need to strengthen Party leadership in environmental efforts, hold local governments accountable, and push forward the “Beautiful China” initiative.
Regarding disciplinary inspections, the meeting revealed that issues were found in central Party and state institutions, requiring serious rectification. It stressed that 2025 is a crucial year for expanding inspections to ensure the implementation of Party policies and support Chinese modernization. Other matters were also discussed.
