President Xi expressed confidence in Sharif’s leadership, anticipating new achievements in Pakistan’s national development. Emphasizing the importance of the China-Pakistan friendship, Xi urged continued cooperation, especially in upgrading the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Premier Li Qiang also conveyed congratulations, as Shehbaz Sharif, the joint candidate of an alliance led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, secured 201 votes out of 293 in the National Assembly’s polling.
