Xi: China-Vietnam community with shared future ‘off to a good start’

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met in Beijing to discuss progress in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Xi praised the recent close exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing mutual benefits and stability. He expressed China’s commitment to deepening economic, trade, and digital cooperation, encouraging Chinese investment in Vietnam, and addressing maritime issues for regional peace.

 

Chinh affirmed Vietnam’s support for China’s global initiatives, accession to the CPTPP, and adherence to the one-China principle. He emphasized Vietnam’s dedication to strengthening strategic trust and cooperation with China, regardless of external influences. Both leaders highlighted the importance of their partnership in promoting modernization, regional stability, and global development.
