Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with representatives from seven Japan-China friendship groups, stressing the need for stronger bilateral cooperation amid global uncertainties. He emphasized China’s commitment to maintaining peace in Asia and fostering human development.
Wang highlighted the importance of reassessing China-Japan relations, reaffirming their friendship, and strengthening mutual cooperation. He outlined three key areas for improvement: maintaining the political foundation, enhancing dialogue across sectors, and encouraging younger generations to uphold bilateral ties.
He also stressed adherence to the China-Japan Joint Statement, particularly in handling historical issues and the Taiwan question. Japanese representatives reaffirmed their commitment to fostering exchanges and strengthening ties at local and youth levels.
