China is anticipated to witness a significant increase in both inbound and outbound travel during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday, reaching pre-pandemic levels of 2019, according to the National Immigration Administration (NIA). The NIA estimates a daily average of 1.8 million inbound and outbound passenger trips from February 10 to 17, marking a 3.3 times increase compared to the previous year. Peak passenger flows at major international airport ports are expected between February 8-11 and February 16-17.
Administrative Regions are projected to peak from February 11-15. Border inspection agencies are implementing measures to monitor and facilitate efficient entries and exits, with a focus on timely information release, quick customs processing for citizens within 30 minutes, traveler diversion management, extended customs clearance hours, and traffic support during peak periods.
