Former U.S. President Donald Trump proposed replacing the EB-5 visa program with a new “gold card” that would cost $5 million and offer a pathway to U.S. citizenship.
The EB-5 program currently grants green cards to foreigners who invest in U.S. businesses that create jobs. Trump criticized it as flawed and said his plan would attract wealthy individuals to America.
Trump mentioned that Russian oligarchs could potentially qualify for the “gold card.” More details about the plan are expected in two weeks.
