Spain squad meets king, prime minister before Euro 2024 victory parade

The Spanish national team celebrated their Euro 2024 victory on Monday with visits to Zarzuela Palace, home of King Felipe VI, and Moncloa Palace, the residence of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. They then paraded through Madrid in an open-top bus, celebrating with tens of thousands of fans.

Spain won the European Championship in Germany, defeating England 2-1 in the final, securing the Henri Delaunay Trophy for a record fourth time. King Felipe VI praised 16-year-old Lamine Yamal’s brilliance, while Rafael Nadal lauded the team’s performance.

Captain Alvaro Morata expressed his pride, stating, “I’ve given everything to win this European Championship.” Spain’s Rodri was named Player of the Tournament, and Yamal won the Best Young Player award with four assists.
