Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping and WHO goodwill ambassador for tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, met with UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima and WHO Assistant Director-General Jerome Salomon on Thursday. Peng emphasized the importance of eliminating HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis for global health and development, praising UNAIDS and WHO’s efforts. She shared China’s experiences in combating these diseases and reaffirmed her commitment to her ambassadorial duties.
Byanyima and Salomon lauded China’s achievements and Peng’s contributions, expressing their desire to strengthen collaboration with China to advance global health initiatives.
