MI hosts and reporter connected with CGTN to introduce the situation of the Myanmar earthquake

On March 28, 2025, Myanmar International Radio (MIR) host Zwe Thet Paing & Yamin along with a correspondent from CGTN, provided updates on the recent earthquake in Myanmar. The earthquake, which struck on Friday, caused significant damage and affected many people across the region, particularly in Mandalay, Naypyidaw, Sagaing, and Southern Shan State.

 

During the live call, Zwe Thet Paing shared details about the earthquake’s magnitude, the hardest-hit areas, and the ongoing response efforts by the government and rescue teams. He explained that emergency services were working tirelessly to assist those in need, and shelters had been set up for displaced families. Authorities have reported casualties and injuries, though the exact numbers are still being confirmed. The earthquake also caused severe damage to buildings, roads, and infrastructure, making rescue operations even more challenging.
CGTN viewers gained insight into the current situation in Myanmar and the role of international aid organizations in relief efforts.
