U.S. President Joe Biden urged Hamas to accept the proposal. Haniyeh condemned the airstrike and reaffirmed Hamas’s demands. The conflict in Gaza has claimed thousands of lives, mostly civilians. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced plans to increase aid to Gaza, including opening a new crossing and port, amidst international criticism of insufficient aid reaching the territory.
