The FBI is investigating an attempted assassination of Donald Trump at his South Florida golf course. Shots were fired at Trump International Golf Club while Trump was playing with donor Steve Witkoff. A Secret Service agent noticed a rifle and engaged with the suspect. Trump was unharmed, and the golf course was immediately locked down. The suspect was arrested after a police chase but had no weapon when detained.
Trump later reassured supporters he was safe, stating the incident only strengthened his resolve. Political figures, including President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, expressed relief at Trump’s safety and condemned political violence.
This incident follows another assassination attempt on Trump at a Pennsylvania rally in July, where he was injured in the ear. The situation has raised concerns about the challenges of securing Trump’s properties and safety.
