A Danish traveler, Kennet Brask, canceled his planned trip to the U.S. after watching an explosive meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, citing Trump’s rudeness. Brask is among many Europeans who are boycotting U.S. travel in protest against Trump’s policies, including his stance on Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory. Some Danes, like Kim Kugel Sorenson, have even altered personal symbols of American support. A CGTN survey shows declining European trust in the U.S. due to Trump’s “America First” policy. European travel spending in the U.S. was $155 billion in 2023, but agencies report declining interest and have reduced marketing efforts.
