Egypt has launched a national low-carbon hydrogen strategy to enhance its green economy and achieve climate goals, aligning with its “Egypt Vision 2030.” The plan, developed with partners like the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, focuses on increasing hydrogen production and consumption domestically before expanding exports. It aims to boost GDP by nearly $18 billion and create 100,000 jobs by 2040, while improving energy security. Egypt also seeks to become a global green hydrogen hub, with the Suez Canal Economic Zone securing a €397 million contract to export green fuel to Europe.
