Eagles deny Chiefs a Super Bowl three-peat with dominant defense in a 40-22 rout

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the Super Bowl, denying the Chiefs a third consecutive title. Cooper DeJean’s pick-6 and Josh Sweat’s relentless pressure on Patrick Mahomes were key highlights. Jalen Hurts, who threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, was named Super Bowl MVP. Despite a strong season from Saquon Barkley, the Eagles’ defense, led by Vic Fangio, was the star, with six sacks on Mahomes. Coach Nick Sirianni praised the team’s collective effort. The Chiefs, aiming for a three-peat, were outmatched, with Travis Kelce having a quiet game and Mahomes struggling. This marked Mahomes’ first loss against Fangio’s defense.
