China Media Group (CMG) has revealed four additional sub-venues for the 2024 Spring Festival Gala, expanding beyond the main venue in Beijing. The sub-venues include Shenyang in northeast China, Xi’an and Kashgar in northwest China, and Changsha in central China. The gala, a significant cultural event for all Chinese people, is scheduled for the eve of Chinese New Year on February 9. CMG President Shen Haixiong attended the launch, emphasizing the gala’s role as a “golden business card” for the international promotion of Chinese culture. The 2024 Spring Festival Gala will follow a “1+4” model, aiming to seamlessly integrate the main and sub-venues to showcase diverse regional folk cultures and the vibrant atmosphere of the new era. The event will explore the historical and humanistic aspects of each venue, fostering a connection between the main and sub-venues to capture the joyful spirit of the Lunar New Year through various art forms.
