China and Brazil reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Brazilian presidential advisor Celso Amorim at the Munich Security Conference. Wang highlighted the progress made since President Xi Jinping’s visit to Brazil last year and emphasized the importance of aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with Brazil’s development goals.
Both sides agreed to deepen collaboration within BRICS and Latin America while advocating for multilateralism and the rights of Global South nations. They also pledged to support diplomatic efforts for resolving the Ukraine crisis through the “Friends of Peace” platform.
