China has urged the G7 to stop interfering in its internal affairs and undermining its sovereignty, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated on Monday. Responding to G7 statements on Taiwan, maritime disputes, and alleged Chinese support for Russia, Mao rejected the claims as mischaracterizations and lodged protests with relevant countries. She emphasized that Taiwan is a core Chinese interest, the South China Sea remains stable, and China has not supplied weapons to Russia. Mao also dismissed concerns over China’s defense spending and industrial capacity, accusing the G7 of double standards and economic politicization. She called on the G7 to abandon Cold War-era thinking and focus on global cooperation and development.
