Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. They pledged mutual support on core interests and highlighted the steady development of China-Myanmar relations. Wang affirmed China’s respect for Myanmar’s political path and its principle of non-interference. He emphasized support for Myanmar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, opposed external interference, and voiced hopes for enhanced cooperation. Min Aung Hlaing expressed Myanmar’s commitment to the one-China principle and proposed joint celebrations for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He also appreciated China’s role in peace talks and support for Myanmar’s stability and cooperation against cross-border crime.
