China and France reaffirmed their commitment to avoiding “decoupling and breaking the chain” during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot in Beijing. Both sides emphasized multilateralism, cooperation, and strategic coordination to promote global stability and free trade. They issued a joint statement on climate change, pledging international collaboration and support for the Paris Agreement. China and France also agreed to enhance cooperation in key industries such as agriculture, nuclear energy, AI, and green hydrogen. On China-EU relations, both ministers stressed the need for dialogue and cooperation, with France supporting negotiations to resolve trade disputes.
