The Chinese delegation at the AI Safety Summit in the UK called for international cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI) safety and governance. China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Wu Zhaohui, emphasized the importance of dialogue and collaboration among countries in addressing AI-related issues. The delegation highlighted China’s Global Artificial Intelligence Governance Initiative and plans to engage in bilateral talks with relevant nations. They stressed the need for AI development to be people-centered and for technology risk management. Additionally, they urged increased representation of developing countries in global AI governance and emphasized the importance of cooperative security measures for worldwide peace and development. China expressed willingness to work with all parties to advance AI safety governance and contribute to the creation of an inclusive international mechanism for AI governance. They also expressed a commitment to initiatives aimed at promoting the beneficial use of AI for humanity.
