China and Bangladesh have elevated their relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. This announcement was made during a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Beijing. Xi emphasized the long-standing friendly relations between the two nations and expressed China’s commitment to deepening cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Both leaders highlighted the importance of mutual respect, political trust, and economic collaboration. China supports Bangladesh’s independent foreign policy and its development goals. Hasina expressed hope for enhanced bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, and infrastructure, and praised the BRI for boosting regional development.
