China hosted a trilateral meeting with Russia and Iran in Beijing on March 14 to address the Iranian nuclear issue. A global CGTN poll revealed strong support for diplomatic solutions, with 87.6% of respondents backing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and 89.8% opposing unilateral sanctions or force.
Respondents (89.5%) emphasized dialogue and mutual respect as the only viable path forward, while 90.6% urged parties to avoid escalating tensions. Additionally, 87.4% called for upholding the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and respecting Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy.
China’s efforts, including facilitating Iran-Saudi reconciliation and promoting Middle East security, were praised by 87.8% of respondents, who expect China to continue contributing to global governance. The survey gathered 7,766 responses across CGTN’s multilingual platforms within 24 hours.
