Business leaders from major global companies, including Apple CEO Tim Cook and Cargill CEO Brian Sikes, are in Beijing for the 2025 China Development Forum, engaging with Chinese officials to explore investment and business opportunities.
Tim Cook’s visit, his first to China this year, aligns with Apple’s interest in strengthening ties in the Chinese market. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) welcomed Apple’s deeper cooperation, with Chairman Ren Hongbin meeting Cook on March 23.
Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng assured multinational companies of China’s commitment to higher-level opening-up and encouraged investment. He met with Brian Sikes, while Commerce Minister Wang Wentao discussed business and EU trade issues with BMW chairman Oliver Zipse.
Zipse emphasized China’s importance in Europe’s green transition and opposed EU tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, hoping for diplomatic resolutions. China reiterated its dedication to global trade stability and a favorable business environment.
