President Mohammed Shahabuddin of Bangladesh appointed Sheikh Hasina, a leader of the ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) party, as the new prime minister. This marks Hasina’s fourth consecutive term in office. She has been invited to form a new government, as her party has secured the confidence of the majority in the parliament, according to a notification from the country’s Cabinet Division.
