In an Israeli airstrike on the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, at least 70 Palestinians were killed on Sunday, according to state-run Palestine TV. The death toll is expected to rise as the airstrike targeted a densely populated residential area. The Israeli forces’ bombing of main roads between camps is hindering ambulances and vehicles from reaching the affected locations. Most of the casualties, including women and children, are reported to be from the al-Maghazi refugee camp. Additionally, the Israeli army attacked the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and the southern city of Khan Younis. The Gaza-based Health Ministry’s latest tally on Sunday indicated a Palestinian death toll of 20,424, with 54,036 others wounded since the conflict began on October 7. In the same period, 15 Israeli soldiers were confirmed killed in Gaza, bringing the overall number of slain Israeli soldiers during the ground offensive to 154. The Israeli military launched the offensive in response to a Hamas assault on October 7, resulting in about 1,200 Israelis killed and more than 200 captivated.
