Apple and Meta explore AI collaboration, says WSJ

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, is in discussions with Apple about integrating Meta’s generative AI model into Apple’s new AI system for iPhones, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. AI startups Anthropic and Perplexity, along with Google, are also in talks with Apple for similar integrations. These discussions are not yet finalized and could fall through. If successful, these partnerships would significantly expand the distribution of the AI companies’ products, potentially including premium subscription offerings through Apple Intelligence. Apple recently announced its AI strategy, which includes incorporating Apple Intelligence into apps like Siri and bringing the ChatGPT chatbot to its devices.
