Cyclone Remal has caused significant destruction in India’s West Bengal and northeastern states, resulting in at least 32 deaths and numerous injuries. In West Bengal, the cyclone has claimed seven lives. The northeastern states of Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland, and Meghalaya have also been severely affected by storms and landslides. Mizoram experienced a catastrophic stone quarry collapse, killing 17 people and leaving seven trapped. In Assam, rain-related incidents caused three deaths and injured 17 others. Meghalaya saw one fatality from a wall collapse and four injuries from a landslide. Nagaland reported four deaths and substantial damage to over 40 houses.
