A student shooter at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin killed a teacher and a fellow student and injured six others before being found dead at the scene. The attack occurred shortly before 11 a.m. and was confined to one area of the school. Two of the injured students have life-threatening wounds, while the others are in stable condition.
The shooter, whose identity has not been disclosed, used a handgun. Police have not identified a motive, and the shooter’s family is cooperating with the investigation. Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes called it a tragic day for the community and emphasized the lasting trauma such events cause.
This marks the 322nd school shooting in the U.S. this year, underscoring the ongoing crisis of gun violence. Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway urged for stronger efforts to prevent such tragedies.
