Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, leader of North Korea, on Monday in honor of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China, extended his best wishes to Kim, the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of North Korea’s State Affairs.
