China has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for deep space exploration, targeting asteroids, Mars, and the Jupiter system. Announced by Bian Zhigang of the China National Space Administration (CNSA), this plan includes three key missions under the Tianwen banner. Tianwen-2, set for 2025, will explore asteroids to study solar system formation; Tianwen-3, in 2030, aims to collect Mars samples; and Tianwen-4, also in 2030, will venture to the Jupiter system. Building on the 2021 Tianwen-1 Mars mission, these initiatives will focus on understanding the solar system’s origin, the impact of celestial bodies on Earth, and the search for extraterrestrial life. Bian highlighted China’s commitment to international collaboration, including the development of the International Lunar Research Station.
