Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated To Lam on becoming the president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Xi emphasized the friendly relations between China and Vietnam, noting their shared socialist values and geographical proximity. During Xi’s state visit to Vietnam last year, he and Nguyen Phu Trong, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, announced the creation of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, which has strategic importance and marked a new chapter in bilateral relations.
Xi expressed satisfaction with the progress made by various departments and regions of both countries in building this community. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening China-Vietnam relations, maintaining strategic communication, and promoting substantial development in their shared future community to benefit both nations’ peoples.
