Chinese President Xi Jinping responded to a letter from Serbian workers at the HBIS Smederevo Steel Plant in Serbia, encouraging them to continue their efforts in strengthening China-Serbia friendship. Xi recalled his visit to the plant in 2016, expressing gratitude for the workers’ support and highlighting the plant’s positive transformation under Chinese investment. He praised the workers for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing their role in enhancing bilateral cooperation. Xi commended the plant as a symbol of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and urged the workers to contribute further to Serbia’s development and the friendship between the two countries.
