China to consolidate strategic trust with Germany, says Wang Yi

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed China’s readiness to strengthen communication, enhance strategic trust, and deepen cooperation with Germany during a meeting with the German Chancellor’s Foreign and Security Policy Advisor Jens Plotner in Beijing. Wang emphasized China’s commitment to pragmatic cooperation with Germany, addressing differences in the spirit of common progress, and contributing positively to global stability, development, and prosperity. Both countries are urged to uphold unity, oppose camp confrontation, reject protectionism, and avoid attempts to “de-China” in the name of “de-risking.” Additionally, Wang highlighted the importance of China and Germany collaborating to foster the sound and stable development of China-EU relations. In response, Plotner expressed Germany’s desire to broaden cooperation with China across various sectors, contributing to addressing climate change and promoting world peace and development.
