Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent a congratulatory letter to the launch ceremony of the China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Li emphasized the cultural affinity and longstanding friendly exchanges between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He highlighted the positive momentum in the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership, with fruitful cooperation in various fields and progress in building a shared future. Li expressed China’s commitment to working with ASEAN countries to use the Year of People-to-People Exchanges as an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding, strengthen the China-ASEAN community, and collaboratively build a peaceful, safe, prosperous, and amicable homeland. Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin represented Li at the ceremony in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, where Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone of Laos, the current ASEAN chair, also sent a congratulatory letter.
