Former U.S. President Donald Trump testified in a New York courtroom in a defamation case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, who accuses him of assaulting her in the 1990s. Trump’s testimony lasted only four minutes, with him maintaining his earlier stance that Carroll’s claim was a hoax. The trial had previously found Trump had defamed Carroll and do inappropriate acts towards her. The judge overseeing the current trial stated that these findings were binding, cutting short Trump’s testimony. The trial, which lasted four days, is expected to conclude with closing arguments on Friday.
