The opening ceremony of the fourth Asian Para Games Village, combined with a welcoming event for the Chinese delegation, took place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Hangzhou, also hosting the 19th Asian Games from September 23 to October 8, will continue to host the fourth Asian Para Games from October 22 to 28. The Asian Games Village has been converted into the Asian Para Games Village, offering 3,446 rooms with accessible features like tactile paving, Braille signage, and wheelchair-friendly facilities. Additionally, 30 shuttle buses will provide continuous transportation services.
The torch relay plan for the Asian Para Games was revealed, with the flame initially ignited in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on October 12, in honor of the city that hosted the inaugural Asian Para Games in 2010. The flame was then transported to Hangzhou via high-speed rail. A total of 600 torchbearers, including 51 from overseas, will participate in the relay starting on October 19, covering 235 kilometers across three counties and six districts in Hangzhou. Smart technology, including bionic limbs and robot-guided systems, will assist torchbearers with disabilities.
Offline ticketing channels for the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou have been open to the public since October 15, with online and offline ticket sales for seven sports available starting October 16. These sports include athletics, shooting, archery, blind football, goal ball, judo, and lawn bowls.
