This 19.37-kilometer expressway was a collaborative effort involving China’s Shandong Hi-Speed Group Company Ltd (SDHS), Power Construction Corporation of China, and a Thai company. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at the opening ceremony, hailed it as a milestone in Dhaka’s mass transport system and a gift to the nation, emphasizing its role in improving communication between the capital and the rest of the country, while expressing gratitude to all involved in its construction.
