China and Bangladesh share a strong historical friendship, with upgraded bilateral ties in 2016 to a strategic cooperative partnership.
Xi expressed China’s willingness to align development strategies, deepen practical cooperation, elevate the strategic partnership, and benefit both nations’ populations. He assured China’s support for Bangladesh’s sovereignty and opposition to external interference. Xi called for intensified strategic communication, exchanges among departments, and stronger cultural ties. He also congratulated Bangladesh on joining the New Development Bank and advocated for collaboration in multilateral affairs. Hasina commended China’s support during the pandemic and development efforts.
