Agro Myanmar 2018 – The 5th International Exhibition and Conference on Agriculture for Myanmar

Agro Myanmar and Agro Chemex 2018, The 9th International Agrochemical Exhibition & Southeast Asia Crop Protection Forum and also, The 5th International Exhibition and Conference on Agriculture for Myanmar.                                                                                                                                          

The opening ceremony is taken place on 06th November 2018 at the Rose Garden Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar. Agro Myanmar and Agro Chemex is in the chain of the International Agriculture Exhibition which organizes annually in many countries all over the world and it is one of the leading events in Southeast Asia about Agriculture Pesticides, Fertilizers, Chemicals and Machinery. The show is organized to create opportunities for local enterprises to learn and strengthen cooperation and promoting trade ties with countries of developed agriculture industry. The opening ceremony has the privilege to welcome the presence of all Government Officials, Representative of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation and Representative of Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association, industry experts and media.

 

As from the  China Crop production Industry Association(CCPIA), Jack Zhou stated, “Myanmar is a country of growers. The agricultural sector accounts for 37.8 percent of the country's GDP, employs 70 percent of its labor force and generates 25 to 30 percent of total export earnings, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Although agriculture is the most important sector in Myanmar, it faces challenges such as lack of proper infrastructure in the rural areas, complex land tenure issue, low agricultural productivity and low international demands for agri-food products, the program aims to see significant agri-production and emerge as the regional hub for agriculture. To result all these challenges, Government Officials encourage and create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to develop their business in Myanmar. This is the great chance for foreign enterprise who would like to invest into this potential market.”
